For over 15 years I have been singing for Brides and Grooms on their special day for probably one of the biggest moments of their lives and this is of course - The Bridal Entrance.
I have seen different trends of music come and go over the years with some couples keeping things traditional with Schubert's Ave Maria while other brides may choose to walk down the aisle to Ed Sheeran's latest hit such as “Perfect” There is no right or wrong, this is your day and I believe you should be able to have what ever you want!
Having said that, there are some legal rules which we must follow for your wedding music and this is if you are getting married anywhere other than the church such as a stately home, a castle, a hotel etc, we aren't allowed to sing or play music with any religious content. If you're having a church service I always advise to check with your church that they are happy with the music content you are choosing as well, as some church's only allow music with religious content but this is a personal preference of your vicar / priest so its always good to check before hand. Choosing myself as a wedding singer for your big day means you can really get the best of what's available to you and mix and match with the traditional church organ along with solo singing performances of modern romantic classics.
So, I have put together my top 5 songs for your church wedding ceremony (plus a few alternatives) and they are:
Guests Entrance Music:
Wagner Bridal Chorus (Here Comes the Bride, Instrumental Traditional)
Cannon in D (Instrumental Alternative)
Song Bird (solo performance)
Signing of the register:
Shubert's “Ave Maria” (solo)
Pie Jesu (Solo)
Exit of the Bride & Groom:
Mendelssohn Wedding March (Traditional) or
At Last (Modern) Solo Performance
There are many hymns you can choose from and as your wedding singer I will confidently lead the congregation singing your choice of hymn for your guests to follow. I recommend choosing well known hymns such as:
All Things Bright & Beautiful
Morning Has Broken
